I am a native of Brazil, but have called L.A home for the past twenty years.
Having always enjoyed the outdoors, nature, that wonderful showcase of God's awesomeness, was the first thing I tried to photograph as I learned photography. I greatly enjoyed photographing birds; and sunsets are still my favorite subject.
I have since photographed products for advertising and magazine articles, and headshots for aspiring actors and models.
Lately I've developed an interest in surfing photography. It combines my passion for being outdoors with the challenge of capturing the action at just the right moment. Living just up the road from El Porto in Manhattan Beach provides me with plenty of opportunity to hone my skills, as there's always a crowd in the water down there. My favorite season for photographing in SoCal is definitely fall, when the storms start brewing up north and the big swells arrive, as well as those awesome Santa Ana winds that blow offshore and make the crests of the waves get that beautiful flowing-hair look to them.
